Natural Black

Natural Black is a reggae singer from Guyana, birthname Mortimer Softley. He moved to Jamaica to pursue his dream of being a reggae singer, after a period of service in the army. He has had several hits in Jamaica, including "Reality Check" and "My Meditation".
His conscious lyrics and positive message ought to be what is promoted in mainstream culture. Songs like "Babylon Paper", "I'm Not Amazed", "All I've Got" present the values of a community moving forward, and leaving the ills which hold it down behind.
Natural Black is also a follower of the Rastafari order Bobo Shanti.
