Natsuo Kirino

Natsuo Kirino (桐野夏生) (born 1951) in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture is a Japanese novelist, most famous for her 1997 novel, Out, for which she won the Grand Prix for Crime Fiction, Japan's top mystery award. In addition, Kirino was awarded with another one of Japan's literary awards, known as the Naoki Prize in 1999, for her novel, Soft Cheeks. So far, two of her novels have been translated into English: Out and Grotesque.
