"Native Heir" Foaled April 19, 1998, is a dark bay Thoroughbred gelding by "Makin" out of "Mary had a Lot" ("Double Zeus"). Native was twice Virginia born horse of the year bred by Spencer Young.
NATIVE HEIR won 17 races (11 stakes), 7 (5) seconds, 5 (2) thirds, from 2 to 6, 2004, earning $602,951. Stakes-placed at 2, a stakes winner every year thereafter, he equaled the track record in the Grade 3 Deputy Minister H at Gulfstream Park, running the 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:15.17 and recording a 109 Beyer. A stakes winner on both dirt and turf, he is shown above winning Colonial Downs’s 2004 Punch Line Stakes.

2000 111lb Experimental Free H. After winning over half a million dollars Native Heir was saved by Mid Atlantic Horse Rescue at New Holland where he was being sold for slaughter.
Native Heir's last race was at Colonial Downs, July 9th, 2005.
