Native News Today
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Native News Today is a weekly television show hosted by Gerald Wofford (Cherokee) and Jason Salsman (Muscogee Creek). It looks at various events happening throughout Indian Country from an Indian perspective and also endeavors to show some of the good that Native Americans and Indian Tribes are doing throughout their areas. It is in the format of a news program.
The show is the first of its kind in that it is the only All Native American show to have its hosts go out to the events they cover bringing back footage and interviews. The show is independent and is not funded by any tribe and so it covers events important to any tribe.
It is sponsored by the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Communications Department. It airs on Cox Channel 3 in the Tulsa, Oklahoma region at 11:00 a.m. each Saturday morning.
As of April 6, the Native News Today will show on CW channel 19, at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. It will no longer air on Cox Channel 3. It will be available statewide.
