National Statistics Office (Philippines)

The National Statistics Office (NSO) is the Philippines government agency responsible for collecting, processing and disseminating national statistical information. It also administers the national Civil Registry.

The organization assumed its responsibilities on January 1, 1941, when it was known as the Bureau of the Census and Statistics (BCS). It became the National Census and Statistics Office (NCSO) in 1974, until renamed to be the National Statistics Office in 1987.
