National Remote Sensing Agency is an autonomous institution supported by Department of Space of India. It is responsible for acquisition, processing and supply of data from IRS satellites. The agency is part of efforts to harness the IRS capabilities developed by ISRO.
It also manages a satellite monitoring station at Shadnagar, near Hyderabad.
It is responsible for collecting information from different Indian and International satellites (IRS, LandSat, ERS) and interacting with International agencies (NOAA).
