The National Islamic Movement of Afghanistan (Jumbish-i-Milli Islami Afghanistan) is an Uzbek political party in Afghanistan. Its leader is General Abdul Rashid Dostum. The size of the party is not available yet, since parliamentary elections were held on a non-partisan basis. It is best known for having opposed the Taliban during the 1990s. In August 2006 the Interior Minister, Zarar Ahmad Moqbel, called for the dissolution of the party due to suspected links with armed miltias operating in Faryab province.
