National Heritage Foundation

The National Heritage Foundation (NHF), based in Falls Church, Virginia (EIN 58-2085326), was established in 1968. It promotes projects in the area of charitable, educational, scientific or religious activities. There are currently around 9,000 projects under its umbrella.

On August 16, 2006, in response to the Pension Protection Act of 2006, NHF changed the way they handle grants to their umbrella projects. An announcement from CEO JT Houk informed all umbrella projects that only those who were 26 U.S.C. ยง 501(c)(3) organizations would be able to continue to receive grants from NHF.[1]
