Nathan Zach

Nathan Zach, Israeli poet, was born in Berlin, Germany in 1930 to a German father and an Italian mother. He immigrated to the Land of Israel in 1936 and served in the IDF during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War.

In 1955 he published his first collection of poetry ("Shirim Rishonim"). He also translated numerous German plays for the Hebrew stage.
