Nathan Martin, born 1978, is a British man who was found guilty, along with three others, for his part in the New Year Murders.
Martin, a member of the Burger Bar Boys, was jailed for life for the slayings of Letisha Shakespeare and Charlene Ellis who were shot outside a hair salon in Aston on 2 January 2003.
Martin, along with Rodrigo Simms, Marcus Ellis, and Michael Gregory, was sentenced to life imprisonment at Leicester Crown Court in March 2005. The trial judge recommended a minimum term of 35 years must be served before parole can even be considered. Under this ruling, he is expected to remain behind bars until at least 2039 and at the age of 61. Along with Ellis and Gregory, he was over 21 at the time of the killings and had fired the fatal shots. Simms, who was 18 at the time and fired none of the fatal shots, was given a shorter recommended minimum term of 27 years.
He was also convicted of the attempted murders of Sophie Ellis and Cheryl Shaw, for which he was sentenced to 24 years, to run concurrently with his life sentence.
