Nate Englin

Nate Englin is an American shot putter from Shoreview, Minnesota, among the top junior throwers in the United States and currently throws for the Missouri Tigers.

Following Englin's freshman season at Missouri, he competed in the 2005 Pan-American Games (Junior) and the USA Track and Field junior games. He earned a silver medal in each competition. He nearly qualified for the United States championships in the shot put in the 2006 season.

Will likely compete in the 2007 indoor and outdoor track seasons as a junior. As a sophomore in 2006, Englin qualified for the NCAA Championships in the shot put and was named all-Big 12 in outdoor shot put and weight throw (indoor). His best throw came at a meet in Los Angeles in the shot put, when he tossed 62 1/4 feet (18.90m). As a freshmen in 2005, Englin earned two all-Big 12 honors, both in shot put (indoor and outdoor).

Competed for Mounds View Track and Field, the most successful team in state history based on Minnesota True Team State Track and Field championships. Holds Minnesota state record in the shot put, 65-6 feet, which he set as a junior in 2003. Was Minnesota state champion three times in the discus, twice in shot put. Finished second in shot put as a sophomore. As a junior, he was the Minnesota Gatorade Athlete of the Year.
