Nathaniel "Nate" Rogers Dickinson (born January 14, 1932) is an American author. His book Common Sense Wildlife Management: Discourses on Personal Experiences was published in 1993 by Settle Hill Publishing.

Nathaniel R. Dickinson received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Amherst College in 1953 and a Master of Science in Wildlife Management from Cornell University in 1955. After serving two years in the United States Army as a cryptographer, he accepted his first position in wildlife profession, signing on as a wildlife biologist with the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Game.

His four years of work in Maine were devoted primarily to deer habitat and beaver management. The next ten years were spent with the New York State Conservation Department focusing on deer habitat management, but also dealing with a wide range of wildlife species and issues. In 1971 he was appointed as one of the two Deer Project Leaders for the Vermont Department of Fisheries and Wildlife. Five years later he was back in New York State and subsequently served eleven years as Big Game Unit Leader for the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation.

He is the author of numerous technical papers and popular articles. For about two years he had a part-time assignment as an Associate Editor of the New York Fish and Game Journal. In 1992 he retired from his position with New York State.

Nate and his wife Ruth have two daughters, one son and two grandsons."
