Natan Yonatan

Natan Yonatan (1923 - 2004) Ukrainian-born Jewish poet, former editor of Sifriat Poalim Publishing House.

His parents moved to Israel in 1925, later going to universities in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.

He published almost two dozen books of poetry in Hebrew. Stones in Darkness was translated to English in 1975, Salt and Light to Russian in 1980, and various poems of his have been translated to many different languages. Some of his poems have been set to music.
