Natal Province
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Natal was a province of South Africa from 1910 until 1994. The Natal Province included the bantustan of KwaZulu. Natal Province was the only province to vote no to the creation of a republic in the South African referendum, 1960.
For almost ten years, Natal was, during the latter part of the 1980s, in a state of violence that only ended with the first democratic elections in 1994.
The entire Natal province became the province of KwaZulu Natal in 1994, following the re-incorporation of the KwaZulu bantustan.
