Nat Sherman is a brand of natural "luxury cigarettes", packaged and marketed to a higher-class clientele than most cigarettes. The company, headquartered in New York City, also sells cigars, pipe tobacco, and accessories. Nat Sherman has been selling tobacco since 1930. Nat Sherman is also one of the most famous cigar manufacturers in the United States having provided cigars to gentlemen's clubs throughout New York City for 75 years. The boxes of the company note that the headquarters are located on Fifth Avenue, New York City, and currently include, as well as a retail section, a smoking lounge, and is stocked with various memorabilia relating to the company's history.

Common current cigarette product lines include:

  • Nat Sherman Classic
  • Nat Sherman Classic Mints
  • Nat Sherman Classic Lights
  • Nat Sherman "Specialties": (longer and thinner than the "Classics", these are "Queen Size", but with the same cigarette-grade tobacco as the "Classics".)
  • Nat Sherman "Black and Gold" - colored black with gold leaf filters.
  • Nat Sherman "Fantasias" (the same cut as "Black and Golds", "Fantasias" have recently become popular with "alternative" life-style crowds due to their rainbow-colored paper wrappings.)
  • Nat Sherman "New York Cuts", which are available in all the varieties of the "Classics", but are of the same length and width of most common American "premium" brands.
  • Nat Sherman "MCD"'s, which are of the same cut as the "Specialties", but are made of cigar-grade tobacco, and come in:
    • MCD King - the same cut as Nat Sherman "Classics", but with MCD tobacco.

  • Nat Sherman Originals (This brand is generally considered to be a MCD with various alterations/filters, though some do disagree and believe it also has a different quality of tobacco and/or paper from the MCD's.)
  • Nat Sherman Non-Filter Cigaretellos Brown - Cigar-grade tobacco in a paper wrapping, without a filter.
  • Nat Sherman "A Hint Of Mint" - Nat Sherman-specific mint filter
  • Nat Sherman "A Touch of Clove" - The same design as "A Hint Of Mint", with clove-flavored crystals in the filter.
  • Nat Sherman "Havana Ovals" - Cigar-grade tobacco without filter. They are oval shaped, and originally made with Havana tobacco.

Nat Sherman also carries cigarillos, cigars, and various smoking implements.

Nat Sherman "Havana Ovals" are mentioned in the Achewood cartoon strip of 4.15.2003, referencing an apparently fictitious 1956 movie, "The Devils of Monte Carlo," in which the cigarettes are used to smuggle concealed lockpicks into a prison - http://achewood.com/index.php?date=04152003

Nat Sherman MCD's are mentionned in "The Devil's picnic" by Taras Grescoe. It's the brand the author and narrator uses to "get back to smoking".
