Narva Power Plants

Narva Power Plants consists two oil shale-fired thermal power plants - Eesti Power Plant and Balti Power Plant - in Narva, Estonia. They are owned and operated by AS Narva Elektrijaamad, a subsidiary of Eesti Energia. As of the end of 2005, Eesti Power Plant had installed capacity of 1,615 MW, and Balti Power Plant had 765 MW. The installed thermal capacity was respectively 84 MW and 400 MW.

The Balti Power Plant was built in 1959-1965 and the Eesti Power Plant was built in 1963-1973. They are currently two largest oil shale-fired power plants in the world.
