Narasimha raju was the son of a police constable Ramaraju, from Tiptur; Venkatalakshmamma was his beloved mother. The poverty prevailing in the house, made his uncle Lakshmipatiraju, take the young lad to a nearby drama company, called 'Chandramouleshwara drama company', run by Shri. Mallappa, touring Tiptur, during that period. After some time, he left that company, and formed his 'own troup' and played the same dramas once he acted before. 'Gorakumbara,' and and 'Harischandra', were some of the noted stories he enacted. Since his company was going under loss he left that and joined 'Edatorey drama company'. He was given the role of a lady, and acted in some of the popular dramas in those days, plays like, Vishvamitra, Rama, Ravana, Bharata etc;
After leaving such similar drama companies, finally he joined 'Gubbi Veeranna's company, which was very popular in those days. Every upcoming artist, including Dr. Rajkumar were the product of that company had the similar dream.
