Napoleon, is a first name which some say derives from "Neapolis" (Naples) and would have originally meant "from Naples". Others claim it is of Greek origin ("Napoleoon") and comes from "napè" or "napos" meaning "(forest)valley" and "leon" meaning "lion" which would mean that Napoleon means "lion of the valley" or similar.[1] Things, places and people called Napoleon include:
