Talk:Naomi Scheman

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

why is this page considered eligible for speedy deletion? All of the info on the page is verifiable with Naomi Scheman herself.

That may be true, but doesn't help as we Ms. Scheman is not a third party source and Wikipedia's Verifiability Policy asks that you cite credible third party sources (see WP:RS for details). You might also take a look at the notability policy and especially WP:BIO and the Professor Test which at the time I write this I don't see Ms. Scheman passing. Gwernol 04:03, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

I still don't understand. I am trying to create this page for a group project in one of Naomi's philosophy classes. All of the information is verifiable from third party websites. can you tell me what i can do to get this page up?

She told you to do this? If so, this must be speedelied hastily. If this is as it says on the article, already deleted once also speedily delete. To get this article to stay you must show us somehow she is legible for an entry on this encyclopedia as we don't allow everyone to have their own article (well except user pages)J.J.Sagnella 18:06, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
Its been speedied twice before and does not provide notability. The author of this article needs to provide third-party sources to verify Ms. Scheman's notability. This is not the same as simply saying there are third-party sources, you must actually provide the third party sources and they themselves must be reputable. For example, can you point us to Ms. Scheman's published works (those that appear in reputable peer-reviewed academic journals)? Has she been awarded major academic prizes for her work? Please go back and read the WP:BIO policy and specifically the professor test. If Ms. Scheman meets those requirements then place verifiable sources in the article to show that, otherwise it will likely be deleted shortly. Gwernol 18:49, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] My apologies

Following User:Monicasdude's edit to the page I've taken another look and I realize my second comment above is not in fact true for this article. It does meet the professor test. My apologies, I was trying to work too fast and made a mistake. I've removed the hangon notice (as its no longer needed) and have done some formatting of the article to bring it more in line with Wikipedia's standards, but I now support keeping this article as I believe notability has been established.
