Naomi Wildman (born 2372, stardate 49548) is a fictional character in the Star Trek universe who appeared on the television series Star Trek: Voyager. She is a half-Ktarian and half-Human who was born to Ensign Samantha Wildman and her husband Greskrendtregk. Naomi was born after the USS Voyager became stranded in the Delta Quadrant; as her father was stationed at the time on Deep Space Nine, Naomi was raised by her mother, and was reunited with her father when Voyager returned home in 2377.
During the time of Naomi's birth, Voyager was stranded in a spatial anomaly, in which there appeared to be two Voyagers. Naomi died on the original Voyager, but was rescued from the other Voyager seconds before its destruction. During her time on Voyager, Naomi developed a close friendship with the Talaxian Neelix and, after the events of "Infinite Regress", sometimes played a game of Kadis-kot with Seven of Nine. By late in the series she is mature enough to be entrusted with tasks.
Naomi was portrayed primarily by Scarlett Pomers, but originally by Brooke Stephens, and as an adult by Vanessa Branch.
Naomi's father Greskrendtregk is a Starfleet officer and a native of the Ktarian species. He is the fifth generation of his family line to have that name (Samantha had considered naming the child after him, if the child had been male). Greskrendregtk and his wife had repeatedly tried to conceive a child, but early attempts were not successful; Samantha did not find out she was pregnant until after the Voyager had already become lost in the Delta Quadrant. Thus, Greskrendtregk could not know he had a daughter until the Voyager was able to establish a regular communications link with Starfleet.
Naomi's mother Samantha Wildman was a xenobiologist aboard Voyager. Samantha, played by actress Nancy Hower, was named for a real person, a little girl who died in an accident. The real Samantha's organs were transplanted into the ailing wife of Voyager episode writer Jimmy Diggs, who gratefully named a character after the girl.
In Star Trek: Voyager relaunch novels set after Voyager's return home, Naomi has now aged to the equivalent of about sixteen Earth years of age (her Ktarian heritage means that she matures faster than normal humans), and successfully applies to Starfleet Academy.
