Namsai is a census town in Lohit district in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh.

As of 2001 India censusGRIndia, Namsai had a population of 11,582. Males constitute 55% of the population and females 45%. Namsai has an average literacy rate of 61%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 68%, and female literacy is 53%. In Namsai, 16% of the population is under 6 years of age. This is one of the important towns of Arunachal Pradesh. Educationally also Namsai is rich. There is one higher secondary school, one secondary, one middle and two primary school in the township itself.

Nearby the Dihing river, the township got the major boost when the much awaited bridge over the river was innaugrated in March 2002. The bridge is 660.37m long and recently only it came to 2nd position in arunachal after the innaugration of prasuram bridge, which eventually is 85kms ahed of Namsai. \
