Namboboto

Namboboto is small rural village in Busia District, Western Province of Kenya. It is 35km North of Lake Victoria. The people are of the Saamia clan a part of the Luhya tribe. They are predominantly subsistence farmers, growing Maize, Sorghum and Casava. There is a small weekly market offering the people the chance to sell their home grown produce. There is a C of E Health Clinic and both Primary and Secondary schools. The Chief is Albert Osinya Okwaba who lives on his own farm within the village boundaries.

The climate is tropical with limited rainfall. The soil is poor being underlaid with Iron Ore which historically was used to make Iron Farming Implements. There are no buses serving Namboboto and the only public vehicles are the Boda Boda (bicycle taxis)
