Description
English: Youth tying the victor's ribbon around his head. Greek insular marble, Roman copy of the 1st century CE after a Greek original of ca. 450–425 BC; the tree trunk from wich the himation falls over was added by the copist. From the so-called House of the DIadumenos in Delos.
Français : Statue d'un jeune homme liant ses cheveux (type dit du diadumène), en marbre des îles, trouvé dans l'édifice dit Maison du Diadumène à Délos. Le jeune homme est nu et attache un ruban dans ses cheveux, ce qui l'identifie comme un athlète. L'œuvre datée de 100 a. C. environ est une copie du modèle du Diadumène sculpté par Polyclète vers 450-425 a. C. Le support en forme de tronc d'arbre sur lequel est posé l'himation est une addition du copiste.
