Nalchity (Bengali: নলছিটি ) is an Upazila of Jhalakati District in the Division of Barisal, Bangladesh.

Nalchity is located at 22.6222° N 90.2708° E . It has 38006 units of house hold and total area 237.17 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census^GRBangladeh, Nalchity has a population of 203563. Males constitute are 50.02% of the population, and females 49.98%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 100836. Nalchity has an average literacy rate of 47.1% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. ^[1]
