Naked Pumpkin Run

The Naked Pumpkin Run is an annual event held on the night of October 31st (Halloween), in which participants run for about a half-mile down public streets wearing only a carved pumpkin over their heads as masks, braving (at times) subzero temperatures, snow, unamused police, and crowds of cheering, camera-brandishing spectators.
The run was started and still primarily takes place in Boulder, Colorado, but in 2005 spread to Denver (also in Colorado) and Chicago (in Illinois) as well. In 2006, the phenomenon appeared in Austin, TX. In Boulder, the events route typically runs down the Pearl Street pedestrian mall in downtown.
