Where did the length quoted come from? I don't seem to remember it being quoted in the books. Nagini is always described as being a giant snake, 12 feet is not uncommonly large for snakes and I dont think qualifies for being called giant. Dan 06:22, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

If She's not a Horcrux, Could Voldemort have gotten her egg from a indian wizard?, it says maybe she could be a very large or wizard-bred cobra.

Any chance Nagini is the boa constrictor that Harry released from the London zoo (book 1)? It was "the largest snake" in the reptile house. Not a cobra, and constrictors don't have venom, but perhaps the addition of a Voldemort soul piece could mutate the snake?

This theory is thourougly debunked through one simple fact: boa constrictors do not have venom. They kill their prey through constriction.
