Nagqu Prefecture (or Nagchu; Tibetan: ནག་ཆུ་ས་ཁུལ་; Wylie: Nag-chu Sa-khul; simplified Chinese: 那曲地区; pinyin: Nàqū Dìqū) is the largest prefecture of the Tibet Autonomous Region. As of 2001 Nagqu has a population of 363,000 and has a total area of 450,537 km². The prefecture is divided into 11 different counties and Nagchu County contains the capital of Nagqu.
