A nadion is a fictional subatomic particle in the Star Trek scenario. It occurs in the workings of phasers.

A nadion is an ion given off by Non Anistropic Decay ie. N.A.D ion. The material that is decaying is not listed in the tech manuals except to indicate it is a crystal of some kind.

Nuclear studies involving lasers have produced ion beams from materials due to Non Anistropic Decay of the nucleus of various materials in our current time.
