Nadia Vole

Nadia Vole is a character from the Alex Rider series. She appears in the first book of the series, stormbreaker.

Nadia Vole (otherwise known as Fräulein Vole) first appears in the book on Alex's first morning at Sayle Enterprises. She is described as being broad-shouldered and severe,having blonde hair, a moon-shaped face, wearing wire framed spectacles, and also wearing a smear of yellow lipstick. She also has a thick German accent.

Nadia takes Alex to a room where he is try the new stormbreaker computer system. She leaves him there and asks him not to leave the room. Alex doesn't follow these instructions though and after about four hours, Alex leaves the room to do snooping around Sayle Enterprises. Alex's investigation is soon put to halt though as Nadia finds him in a passage and is very suspicious of him.

The next time Alex see's Nadia Vole is in the middle of the night, as she joins a convoy of five vechiles leaving Sayle Enterprises. He jumps in one of the trucks and is transported to a deserted beach where a submarine is smuggling in a large amount of vacuum sealed metal boxes.

Nadia Vole wakes up Alex the next morning and suggests that he goes for a walk into the local town of Port Tallon.

Nadia Vole meets her fate towards the end of the book. Alex was being held captive as his identity had been discovered. Nadia Vole snuck in and explained to him that she had been working with Ian Rider and was willing to help him. She lead Alex upstairs, but then paused for a moment on a landing near a statue. She exclaimed to Alex that she felt dizzy and she should go on without him. Alex follows this advice but is then betrayed by Nadia as she pulls the arm of the statue and sends him plummeting down a corkscrew tunnel into a giant fishtank. There was no escape from this underwater prison and the beast within was certain to kill him within a few hours. Luckily he used one of his gadgets that he was first given to escape. When he gets up to look around he finds Nadia Vole being smothered by the beast, which also was released from the tank.
