Nadezhda Teffi known simply as Teffi (Russian: Надежда Тэффи) (1872-1952) was a Russian humorist writer. Teffi is the pseudonym. Her real name was Nadezhda Aleksandrovna Lokhvitskaya (Надежда Александровна Лохвицкая).

Her birthday in various sources varies in the range 1871-1876. Her tombstone says 1875. The most recent findings say that she was born in May 1872.

She had to leave Russia after the October Revolution.
