[edit] Too much info on the members' solo careers

The N.W.A. entry has far too much info on the members' solo careers, which can be accessed simply by clicking on each member's link. This should be an article on N.W.A., primarily ONLY UP TO THEIR 1991 BREAKUP. Anything after that, be it solo or N.W.A. work, is very insignificant (e.g., done out of nostalgia value for a quick buck) and should only receive passing notice. --- Chris77xyz 15:22, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Second paragraph

The second paragraph needs to be rewritten as 100 Miles and Runnin' and Efil4zaggin did not include Ice Cube; he left the group in late 1989 due to finacial disagreements, and he left due to disagreements with the group's leader.

[edit] Reformation

This page should probably include some info on the brief reformation of N.W.A. in the 1990s/2000s - they added Snoop Dogg and did "Chin Check" on the "Next Friday" soundtrack and I think they did another song on one of Ice Cube's solo albums (most likely War and Peace).

[edit] FBI letter

This page could probably do with a little more about the FBI (and a lot more general rewriting). The FBI kept tabs on N.W.A. for several years, and it was quite a famous case. 203.59.123.73 05:00, 21 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Tag for neutrality

For the person who added that: Specify the reasons for that. Specific sentences. C trillos

Ok. "MC Ren also wrote significant amounts of material for the album, making sure he wasn't just the new guy on the team. Eazy-E, despite having most of his songs written by Ice Cube, provided comical relief with his hysterical raps. To top it all off the dual producers Dr. Dre and Yella provided fresh and funky beats for each song and Dre occasionally rapped on the album." Readding npov tag. Swatjester 23:23, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

This NWA article also seems to favor Dr. Dre over the other members, despite the fact that Ice Cube is arguably the best MC in the group. Ice Cube has made multiple critically-acclaimed solo albums. The moment Cube left NWA, the group fell apart. Dr. Dre is a great hip-hop artist, but he has nothing on Ice Cube.

All in all, the section involving Ice Cube and the demise of N.W.A. needs serious cleanup. "Again, many people think that Dr. Dre left N.W.A. for same reason like Ice Cube but that's bulls**t.". We can't have statements like that. Plus, there are so many grammatical errors throughout the article.Jigabooda 00:12, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

"The moment Cube left NWA, the group fell apart." Now that is definitely POV.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Drumac (talk • contribs).

[edit] End punctuation for acronym

This article and its attendant category should be moved to become "N.W.A." not its current "N.W.A". The "A" needs its own period. SidP 12:32, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

Agree. Anyone know any good reason it should not be moved? Speak now...--Rockero 00:09, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
  • It's N.W.A thats how is written in their CD--EZ 22:00, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

Well, as Ice Cube says, "I don't need you to correct my broken English." I'm pretty sure the group members understood there was supposed to be a period after the "A", but for whatever reason, they left it out. For this reason, I think the original spelling of "N.W.A" should be reinstated at the top of the page. Not really a big deal, but it annoys me when people correct something that wasn't supposed to be correct in the first place. It's a band name, and as we all know band names often flout grammatical convention.

Well it annoys me when people call hip hop groups "bands".—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Drumac (talk • contribs).

I think it is OK the way it is now, "N.W.A.". --- Efil4tselaer 02:42, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] New album

I think the supposed name of the new albums should be taken off the discography, it could be there forever and even if one does come it will most probably be called something else. --Xdiabolicalx 22:24, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

Ok, I changed it to cancelled, however I think the title is still interesting to know and makes to list complete. Lajbi 22:31, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ambiguity

The Ice Cube section says, "His political albums are most remembered about the U.S.A. in which he named AmeriKKKa, as well as hypocrisy and addressing issues such as ganglife and racism." What does this mean? The Videography section says, "All videos can be seen in a 2002 VHS release entitled * N.W.A: Elif4zaggin The only home video * The N.W.A. Legacy: The Video Collection, 2002". What does this mean? Tim Ivorson 18 May 2006

[edit] Metabiographical?

I hate to sound ignorant, but I can't find a dictionary with this word in it. Is there any way we could choose another word, to clear up some of the confusion?

Perhaps metabiographical is to a population what biographical is to an individual. Tim Ivorson 2006-06-19

[edit] Who's he?

"He formed the "Niggaz With Attitude" (N.W.A.) with Ice Cube and Tom van Vooren" - who on earth is Tom van Vooren? ChrisTheDude 08:15, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Battle

N.W.A. dissed Ice Cube in "Real Niggaz" and he answered allready at the end of "jackin' for beats". Check those out and make the story complete.

I'm gonna have to second this for a tagging of the neutrality, also this is written as though someone's saying it. Really not up to the quality standard if I have time I'm gonna go through and try to make it a bit more coherent but as it stands that seems a little pointless given the neutrality issue.

[edit] AttitudeS

It's "Niggaz with AttitudeS'. Whoever keeps changing it back to the plain inaccurate/wrong "Niggaz with attitude" should be taken out behind the doghouse and shot. jkl_sem 09:25, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Are you sure? In "Straight Outta Compton" Ice Cube refers to his "gang" as "Niggaz with attitude." Where have you heard that it's "with "attitudes?" Jigabooda 00:12, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Trivia

The trivia section needs a serious cleanup. I was tempted to just axe the whole section. EvilCouch 16:46, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

It really is uglyJigabooda 00:11, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Edit conflict with User:Kemor

All right, I'm going to address this: "Listen EvilCouch, first watch "Beef I" and "And You Don't Stop: 30 Years In Hip-Hop" then you'll see that my text is correct and I really think that I belive Dre and Cube more than your stories.)" Don't accuse me of telling "stories", because I haven't added ANY content to this article. I've been reverting your edits because they are incredibly informally written and lack citations. The Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and needs to be written in that sort of tone. Adding in comments into the article such as "That's wrong" and "but that's bullshit" is so far from an encyclopedic tone as to be borderline vandalism.

There's also the matter of you continously removing The D.O.C. and Arabian Prince from the lineups, without citing any proof. None of the references cited in this article and associated articles agree with you doing that.

If you really want to improve the article, please read the manual of style, how to cite references, verifiability, and neutral point of view before you do any more editing. EvilCouch 16:39, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

You are a disgrace to this article Kemor, all you do is delete Arabian Prince and The D.O.C., both of whom were members of The N.W.A. What you are doing is vandalism and you should be blocked. Payne2thamax

[edit] Gangsta Gangsta

The song "Gangsta Gangsta" was linked so I removed the link because it currently links to some song by lil scrappy. Maybe someone should write an article about the song? It is definitely more memorable than the one by lil scrappy

Lil' Scrappy is a shit-eater. --- Efil4tselaer (talk contribs) 15:58, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] New album?

  • "In 2007 The N.W.A. announced plans to reunite with members Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, MC Ren and The D.O.C. and release an album called "This 1'z 4 You"."

This isn't cited, where can a source be found on this? Please god let it be true.Drumac 21:53, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

I HOPE it's true, but I searched the Internet and Google-ed it and I couldn't find ANY information on this 2007 reunion. Even if it doesn't happen (most likely won't, let's face it), there probably WILL be a reunion track or two on Dr. Dre's new album, Detox. So at least we'll have one or two tracks on Detox. I wish these reunion talks were true, but some guy probably just added it there, otherwise something as big as that would have been cited. --- Efil4tselaer (talk contribs) 02:12, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

People need to stop putting in rumors. Here's what it says now:

"In 2005, it was announced that Dre, Ice Cube, MC Ren and The D.O.C. were going to focus on an album. In 2007, the album WILL be released. ("This 1'z 4 You", the alleged album, is only a rumor. The reunion album may be the soundtrack to Last Friday, Ice Cube's next and last "Friday" film. The group is said to record the entire soundtrack themselves as their own album.)"

What it said before was a rumor and this is a rumor too. Cube hasn't even decided whether he's going to make another friday. People stop putting in rumors, this is supposed to be an encyclopedia.Drumac 07:27, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, I agree, stop adding rumours like these. --- Efil4tselaer (talk contribs) 21:11, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Krazy Dee

who the F is Krazy Dee and since when is he an original member of N.W.A.? I've never heard of the dude before and he isn't mentioned anywhere else except the Eazy E section. Was he featured on N.W.A. and the posse? Because he sure wasn't on Straight Outta Compton.Drumac 06:24, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

I know! First time I saw his name added to the article I just removed it, thinking it was some vandalism or something, but someone kept adding him back, and when I looked at his article it said he was an original member of N.W.A.. I mean, I NEVER heard of this guy, I heard of guys like Arabian Prince, but I never heard of this guy. --- Efil4tselaer 20:32, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

Someone added Krazy Dee as one of the original members of N.W.A., which i believe he is not. You must remember the first album "N.W.A and the Posse" featured a lot of rappers that weren't a part of the group, just affiliated with them. Drumac 23:20, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
