The N-260 is the northernmost east-west highway in Spain. It passes through the eastern Pyrenees.
It connects Portbou at the french border at Cap Cerbere. It passes through Figueras, Besalú, Olot and Ripoll. It becomes the N-152 passing over the Collada des Tosas (1,800m) until Puigcerda, it follows the uper Segre valley to La Seu d'Urgell. It then joins the Andorra to Lleida road C-14/N-154 before branching off to the Coll. del Canto (1,725m) and Sort. Thereafter it turns south along the eastern Noguera valley. It then turns north passing over Coll de Creu de Perves (1,325 m).
It crosses the N-230 from Lleida to Viehla heading over the Coll de Espina (1,407m) and Coll de Fadas (1,470m) into Aragon. The road follows the Congosto de Ventamillo south and the valley of the Rio Esera. It then turns west passing over the Coll de Foradada (1,020m). It crosses the A-138 from Barbastro to France and the follows the Rio Ara. It then croses the Pto de Cotefablo (1,425m) before entering the Valle de Tena. It heads south before joining the N-330 to Jaca where it joins the N-240.
