Nýtt Líf which in Icelandic means New Life, was a film directed by Þráinn Bertelsson in 1983.
The film is a comedy shot in the Vestmanneyjar Islands and is featured by Eggert Þorleifsson and Karl Ágúst Úlfsson, among others. The music is performed by several musicians including the band Tappi Tíkarrass which appeared with the songs “Sperglar” and “Kukl” (a.k.a. “Seiður”).
Two friends working at a restaurant get tired of their jobs and after seeing an advertisement of in the fishing industry of the Vestmanneyjar Islands they decided to go and make some money, but as the islands are known by the locals’ parties, a perfect scenario for funny and strange situations.
