[edit] The Mystic
Third Edition
The mystic is a class from the Dragonlance Campaign Setting. It is a divine caster, like the cleric, but mechanically acts more akin to the sorcerer.
Mystics differ from clerics in Dragonlance in that they do not need to worship a deity to use divine spells. In Dragonlance, all divine spellcasting characters need to worship a deity, but the mystic is the exception to the rule.
[edit] Domains
At the beginning of their career, a mystic must choose one domain from the list clerics may use, with a few extra domains added in. They gain the special power of the domain, and instantly know every spell it grants. In Dragonlane, mystics and clerics do not have access to the Magic domain.
The Sun domain is altered for mystics. Instead of the greater turning, they instead gain the normal ability to turn or rebuke undead once per day.
[edit] Spontaneous casting
All mystics may spontaneously cast any spell they know, much like a sorcerer. However, these spells are taken off of the cleric spell list.
[edit] Weapons
Mystics are proficient with all simple weapons and may be proficient with other weapons depending upon chosen domains or feats. Mysticss may use light and medium armor and any shield (except the tower shield, which only fighters normally use).
