Myoporum is a genus of plants of the family Myoporaceae. There are about 32 species within the genus which is spread from Mauritius, across Australia to the Pacific Islands and up to China.
Species include:
- Myoporum insulare, or boobiala
- Myoporum laetum, or Ngaio tree, endemic to New Zealand
- Myoporum parvifolium, or creeping boobiala
- Myoporum sandwicense, or naio, endemic to Hawaii
- Myoporum viscosum, or sticky boobiala
Myoporum laetum is considered an invasive exotic species by the California Exotic Pest Plant Council. http://www.cal-ipc.org/ip/
