Mynga Futrell

Mynga Futrell is co-director (with Paul Geisert) of The Brights Net, an organisation set up to promote the use of the word Bright as a noun to refer to people whose worldview is naturalistic.

She is president of Atheists and Other Freethinkers, and is on the national advisory councils of Americans United for the Separation of Church and State and the 3Rs (rights, respect, responsibility) religious liberty project for teachers initiated by the First Amendment Center. She is also lead curriculum developer for teachingaboutreligion.org, a religion-neutral professional web resource for educators.

She has been an educator at all levels of instruction, from an elementary open school through university professor, including at Gallaudet University for the Deaf in Washington, DC.
