During a recital in 1977 Mykl so impressed the visiting world famous Concert Violinist - Valery Klimov, that he was given an open invitation to study with him at the infamous Moscow Conservatoire. During the late 70s through to the 90s Mykl gathered a wealth of experience performing and recording in Australia, Fiji, England, Europe, China, Asia and Japan. “In fact such has been Mykl’s success that he has played a major role in the restoration of the Violin, particularly the electric violin, to the forefront of alternative and mainstream music in Australia and around the world”. Michael Jacobson – Gold Coast Bulletin 2006

“For me, music is all about sharing. It’s not just about playing an instrument, fulfilling as that can be. Its about connecting with people, an audience, students, fellow musicians whatever – on a deeper level, then finding a path together and learning along the way all the time never wavering from the goal of being your absolute best”. – Mykl Lozin

Mykl’s talent has now been recorded on more than One Hundred Fifty Albums and CDs worldwide, as well as producing and engineering in the studio he continues to assist in many artist’s projects. One of the past highlights being the Merril Bainbridge album with the no: 1 smash hit 'Mouth'. Since 1998 Mykl has written and released more than twelve full length CDs under his own indie label AURArecords, carving a career as an eclectic and fractal composer with well over hundred fifty works ranging from classical and filmscore to world dance and beyond, pushing the boundaries with his unique brand of original music as he explores all musical styles. His CD’s are in the collections of world famous Actors, Painters, Authors, Champion Athletes and Racing Car Drivers, and of course many famous Musicians too.

In 2002 three albums were nominated in the worlds biggest Indie Artists Awards presented in Hollywood where Mykl reached the semi finals with all three albums, Mykl is now currently a Guest International Judge for these prestigious awards. In his position as a judge in 2004 he covered the Celtic, Roots, Ethnic, Instrumental, New Age and World Song categories, as well as the Country Song nominees with final presentations in Hollywood USA and now he has just completed the 2006 finalist judging in the categories of Blues, Acapella, Rockabilly, and Instrumental sections.

In 2003 Mykl proudly became an Epoch Musical instruments endorsee and is currently the epoch violin clinician based on the Gold Coast. He is in constant high demand as a performer, producer and as the epoch clinician and master teacher in his wonderfully insightful master classes in the art of performance.

During 2005 in the online world of eMusic Charts Mykl reached the no 3 spot, he also climbed to the no 2 position as the most popular world music composer for Australia. In October he reached 11th spot in the USA MP3 world music album charts which is a brilliant achievement also, successfully putting the violin and even more so the electric violin back into the forefront of alternative and mainstream music.

His ability as an eclectic Composer, Master Violin Teacher and dedicated mentor is very well known with several of his students now following in his footsteps on the world stages. It was in January 2005 that Mykl was duly recognized for these two career achievements when winning a Golden Fiddle Award for Best Fiddle Teacher and one for Best Fiddle Composition Aust & NZ. These same awards acknowledged his top violin student and the band “The BOSTOCKS” when winning the first Golden Fiddle - Youth Achievement Award in 2006.

Mykl’s personal success as an international composer is also steadily on the rise as 2006 saw him team up with Gold Coast Flautist Anthony Branagan to write a brand new collection of works for modern Flute. This collaboration has proved highly successful and within a week of its release the ABC Radio National picked up the CD for rotation. Both signed to the AURArecords label and marketed to American outlets the new CD of Branagan and Lozin titled “The Fluture” hit the worldwide digital download stores going straight to Number One on the Classical, Contemporary, and Ambient Electronic World Music - Top Download Charts at Payplay.FM and six months later the album still retains its number one position in all categories.

To date Mykl has four albums currently in the Top Ten Charts at Payplay.FM with the added Number One positions in the World Traditions and Australian World Music Charts making a total of Five Number One’s thus currently making Mykl Lozin one of the most popular contemporary artists in the digital download world today.

His Violin playing is totally infectious, eclectic, flamboyant, and very sensuously delicate, all awhile intertwining the loud and sometimes brash……and just like the man, Mykl lives this persona with great passion and insight as he captivates the audience in this awe inspiring musical journey of spontaneous performance art. The fact that Mykl is handicapped living with the crippling disease of me/cfs is not only a testament to this violinists amazing will-power to achieve, but a true source of inspiration to people everywhere. So it is with little wonder, that this Violinist, Australia’s Mykl Lozin has been acclaimed so many, many times as one of our most unique and exciting talents. Passionate and inspirational, the eclectic sums Mykl up very nicely.

2007 Update:

With a personal invitation from the Violent Femmes to sit in with the band during their upcoming visit to Queensland in January 2007 – Mykl’s freelance performances are always memorable with Australia’s top music legends as well. During 2006 multi award winning artists such as Stevie Wright, Phil Emmanuel, Bassist -Bob Daisley, Dennis Wilson, Ian Mason - ex LRB keyboardist, Ray Hoff, and many others shared the stage and music with Mykl at festivals and shows around NSW and Queensland.
