[edit] My Old School

Wow, cool. Not sure it's notable though? I don't know of anyone famous who went here? Are schools notable on their own? Wikipedians who attended list? NatashaUK 14:20, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

Yes, I think any secondary school is notable. Myers is very notable as the 1st comprehensive in Sheffield. Didn't Chris Turner go there (Wednesday manager)? roundhouse 16:09, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
First purpose built comp in Sheffield. Dunno aboutr Chris Turner.

What other comps were there in Sheffield pre-1960? Or indeed pre-69? roundhouse 17:41, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
[1] - go down to the comment by Derek Clayton
[2] - note it says 'Tapton has changed since it opened in 1960.
Also, mildly amusing. If you google 'Myers Grove' The sponsered link is the standard ebay one - 'Great prices on Myers Grove. Buy Myers Grove today' Made me chuckle NatashaUK 20:44, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
I've moved this to WikiProject Sheffield - perhaps someone has definite info. (I think Tapton opened as a Sec Mod.) roundhouse 14:15, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
No, so do I. Myers was purpose built as a comp, but not the first comp. See what the wiki sheffield people have to say though
