Myer Classic

The Myer Classic is a Group 1 Australian thoroughbred horse race held under Weight for Age conditions, for fillies and mares aged 3 years old and upwards, over a distance of 1600m.

It is held at Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne.

1988 – 1994 was a Listed Race
1995 – 1996 was a Group 3
1997 – 2003 was a Group 2
2004 onwards Group 1

1988 the race was known as ‘The Honda Legend’
1989 - 1992 the race was known as the ‘Honda Legend’
1993 the race was known as the ‘Hong Kong Bank Stakes’
1994 - 2001 the race was known as the ‘Hardy Brothers Classic’
2002 - 2004 the race was known as the ‘Nestle Peters Classic’
2005 onwards the race has been called the ‘Myer Classic’.
