[edit] Episode overview
J.D. has finally earned the spot as brightest student, but he's got competition: Dr. Nick Murdoch, portrayed by Sean Hayes, who seems to be nicer, friendlier and even has a sexier butt than him. But not even J.D. can hate Nick, for he is such a nice person. But he is surprised when he finds Nick sitting in a corner crying because he can't take the pressure of medical internship and the reality of death. This leads to Nick leaving the hospital and J.D. returning to the top.
Meanwhile, Turk keeps freezing up at the operation table and does not tell Carla, who keeps bothering Dr. Cox about it. Cox gives Turk a unique suggestion on how to calm down before surgery.
[edit] Trivia
The shot of the crowd where Turk leaves the restroom is a parody of a scene from the M*A*S*H movie.
