My American Heart is a rock band hailing from San Diego, CA. They were formally known as No Way Out. No Way Out gained local fame from the SoCal venues they played at. As popularity grew, the band was pressured to play at larger venues farther from home. The band played the Taste of Chaos tour in 2005 and shortly afterward recorded the full length album The Meaning in Makeup with famed producer Sal Villanueva (Thursday, Taking Back Sunday) released on punk/indie legend Kevin Lyman's label, Warcon, in fall 2005.

The band headlined the Ernie Ball stage on the entire Warped Tour in the summer of 2005, and followed with a late fall headlining tour sponsored by MySpace. They also headlined their own independent tour with bands such as Portugal. The Man, Lorene Drive, and Action Action opening for them.

My American Heart has recently finished writing and recording their sophomore album.

[edit] Trivia

  • Dustin loves golf, gambling, steak, and has been reported to be seen with multiple gay counterparts.
  • Guitarist Jesse Barrera originally played bass in the band.
  • My American Heart and Downtown Singapore were really good friends, so when Jeremy Mendez left MAH and Downtown Singapore broke up, Spud was asked to fill in.
  • The Band's name is derived from a Piebald (band) song called "American Hearts". The band thought the meaning was a great way to represent themselves since the members all came from Spanish/Asian/French backgrounds raised in America. It was perfect timing since being threatened for the use of "No Way Out." The music style changed as well line up. It was time for a brand new name.
  • Larry had a web design firm called My American Heart.
