The M/V Pont L'Abbé is a ferry operated by Brittany Ferries. She was built at Aalborg Værft A/S in Denmark for DFDS Seaways as the Dana Anglia and entered service with them in 1978. She sailed between Esbjerg, Denmark and Harwich, United Kingdom between 1978 and 2002 before being renamed Duke of Scandinavia for service between Copenhagen, Denmark and Gdańsk, Poland. She returned to the North Sea in 2003 to sail between Newcastle and IJmuiden. In 2006 she was chartered by Brittany Ferries to replace the Val de Loire which had been sold to DFDS as a replacement for Duke of Scandinavia. It is expected that she will be withdrawn from service with Brittany Ferries in September 2008 when the Armorique is completed and joins the fleet. She sails under the French flag and is registered in Morlaix.

[edit] Onboard facilities

Brittany Ferries have changed very little on board Pont L'Abbé since her service with DFDS. It is rumoured that the charter agreement does not allow major changes to be made to match the facilities on board other Brittany Ferries vessels.
