Muzaffargarh District

Muzaffargarh (Urdu/Punjabi: مظفر گڑھ) is a district in the south of the Punjab province of Pakistan.It is spread over an area of 8,435 square km. It forms a strip between the river Chanab on its east and Indus river on its West. It is one of oldest districts of Punjab.It comprises the following four tehsils:

  • Muzaffargarh.
  • Alipur.
  • Kot Addu.
  • Jatoi.

The district had a population of 2,635,903 of which 12.75% were urban in 1998.[1]

Muzaffarhgarh is a towering amongst the Historical Cities of the country. In later 16th century a Khokha Chowk emerged to the higher and development states in the era. During the early 17th century, it became small town of the localities which emerged under the various names become Muzaffargarh, the name given by names Muzaffar Khan of Multan. He shifted the Hear Quarter from Khangarh to the Head Quarter in 1764-96. Similarly become District Head Quarter in 1864 the people of District evolved the economy from nothing to the country level, so it expeditiously improved the status and acknowledged by the National & internal dignities. Now it is more productive and generated city of the province that is why Roads, Girls & Boys High School, and Boys & Girls Colleges, District Hospital, & industrial area exist within the premises of the city.
