Talk:Music of Naples
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I put this article up as a preliminary item that could use some expansion. I don't seem to be able to get the category link at the bottom to link to Music of Italy. I'm a newcomer to Wikipedia. Sorry for the clumsiness.Jeffmatt 07:00, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
- No problem, great work on the article! Tuf-Kat 07:24, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
- I added a single sentence to the beginning, and the Italian music template (and fixed the category). It needs a better lead, though, see Wikipedia:Lead section. Another major improvement would be references. Tuf-Kat 07:26, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
Ah, the lead, the lead! I knew I had forgotten something. I have added it. Thank you for your assistance and advice. Sooner or later, as I wade through various help pages, I'll learn about boxes, templates, and cats (oh, my!), Just what I need--another learning curve. At my age, they are getting more and more anaerobic.Jeffmatt 12:25, 23 December 2005 (UTC)

Thank you. One question. How do I link to an article if I want to use a shortened form of the title? That is, if the article is entitled Niccolò Piccinni, and I want to use just Piccini in my article, how can I do that without leading the reader through the disambiguation page--although, I realize, in this case, there is not much to disambiguate.Jeffmatt 18:16, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
- Type this: [[Niccolò Piccinni|Piccini]]. The bit before the | is the title to link to, the latter bit is what to display. Tuf-Kat 19:37, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
Again, thank you very much.Jeffmatt 22:09, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
