Talk:Museum of the Portuguese Language
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] Translation notes
Alright, I've just translated this whole article from scratch from the Portuguese Wikipedia (it's a featured article there, and I'd like to make it one here.) I have left out some specific parts from the Pt. version that I thought were POV, overly redundant or generally unencyclopedic. I have not changed the order of the "internal spaces" section, but I wonder if it should be changed... I don't know if the sections are in order of the progress through the museum or not.
Other notes:
- Gilberto Gil's statement seems redundant, but I can't find a way around the fact that he repeated himself, unless I have misinterpreted the passage somehow. The quotes should probably be looked at by someone else who understnads Portuguese for maximum clarity.
- The Portuguese article seems overly eager to credit anyone who has had any part in developing or running the museum... I have only included authors, musicians, professors, etc. that would deserve Wikipedia articles on their own (if it's still to much, feel free to remove some names.)
- Overall, I think the Portuguese article is too favorably POV (and why not?) I have balanced this out... Still, I wonder if this article couldn't support some sort of "criticism" section (there is a somewhat critical review of it in the external links.)
If you spot any problems or inconsistencies, help fix it. I'd like to get this to featured status. Thanks! Grandmasterka 20:22, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
