Musulman

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Musulman (Persian: مسلمان, also rendered as Musalman) is a synonym for Muslim. The term comes from Turkish and Persian. Turkish muslims call themselves "Müslüman", which is the plural for Muslim. It is the origin of French word musulmane (used for a Muslim)[1]. In the West it has become an archaic usage.

"Musulmán" is also the Spanish translation of "Muslim," as well as the Persian word for "Muslim." In addition to the Persian dialect Dari, it is also found in Pashto, Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, Turkish, and Bosnian.
