Professor Mustafa Halilsoy (born February 25, 1949, Agios Nikolaos, Paphos, Cyprus) is a prominent Turkish Cypriot theoretical physicist, and received his PhD degree in physics from Middle East Technical University specializing in gravitational physics. He is one of the contributors to general relativity,in particular Exact solutions in general relativity.

He is best known on his contribution "the Nutku-Halil Solution for Colliding Impulsive Gravitational Waves" where this work is cited by many other researchers i.e. [1]. [2]. His works appeared in the the seminal book by Professor Jerry Griffiths [3], as well as listed in the Bibliography of Colliding Plane Waves [4].

Professor Halilsoy is still actively working on gravitational physics at Eastern Mediterranean University in the politically disputed part of Cyprus (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus), focusing on exact solutions in general relativity. His analytic descriptions of colliding gravitational waves and singularity problems appeared in astro-physical black-holes, nonlinear problems of Mathematical Physics as well as fields and particles in general.
