[edit] Story

In the game, an evil demon called Orochi disrupts time and space, putting the various heroes of the Three Kingdoms period of China (the setting of Dynasty Warriors) and the Sengoku period of Japan (the setting of Samurai Warriors) together. The heroes of these two different periods then unite to defeat Orochi.

[edit] Gameplay

The gameplay is similar to Dynasty Warriors rather than Samurai Warriors, in which it combines some features from Samurai Warriors with the Dynasty Warriors engine. However, new to the Musou series is the ability to control three characters at once, pressing the L2 or the R2 buttons will result in switching from the current character to one of the other two selected characters. In addition, this game features three different types of styles to choose from. All three prime colors have its meaning: red represents power, blue represents speed, and finally, yellow represents technique.

Like both series, Musou Orochi features a Story Mode. It is divided into four sides, these sides are Shu, Wei, Wu and Sengoku.

All of the playable characters in Dynasty Warriors 5 and the Samurai Warriors series will be playable in Musou Orochi, including characters in the first Samurai Warriors game who did not show up in its sequel like Kunoichi, Ishikawa Goemon, and Imagawa Yoshimoto. Some fans were dissapointed that Sasaki Kojiro, Shibata Katsuie, Fu Xi and Nu Wa did not make it in the game.

Two new characters are included, one is the titular character and primary villain Orochi (遠呂智), the other is Daji (妲己), the villainous concubine of King Zhou of Shang.
