Musicians Institute
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Musicians Institute is a Hollywood, California music school.
Formed in 1977 as the Guitar Institute of Technology, co-founded by jazz guitarist Howard Roberts, the Institute eventually grew into a comprehensive contemporary music college that prepares students for careers in the music industry as performers and professionals. The school, accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM), offers Bachelor Degree, Associate Degree, and Certificate programs in voice, instrument performance (bass, guitar, drums, keyboards), audio engineering, original music production, music business, guitar-building, and music video/film, taught by a faculty of experienced music professionals. GIT remains MI's largest program, and the drum program, the Percussion Institute of Technology (PIT), is currently the largest percussion school in the United States, with instructors such as Rob Carson, former three-time world snare champion and co-inventor of the flam marching head.
