Music in advertising is the use of songs and incidental music in advertising campaigns, particularly television commercials and radio commercials. The music can often reflect current trends, using artists and songs that are popular at the time. Sometimes the use of the song in the advert is what makes it popular. There are several websites to cater the needs of those people who are looking for a particularly catchy song that played in a commercial (see External links). List of songs featured in television commercials, is a list of songs used in some advertising campaigns.

A jingle is a short catchy tune which incorporates a product name or slogan. It may be taken from an opera or orchestral piece, or may be new. The purpose of a jingle is to get consumers to remember the product. A good jingle can make even a low-budget ad. very memorable.

The expression signature song is sometimes used by a company when referring to a leitmotiv on their television and radio commercials[1]. Unlike a jingle, a signature song is an already existing piece. Examples of current or previous signature songs in advertising include:
